Amiens cathedral

The Amiens cathedral was build 1221-1270. With the nave more than 42 meters it is the highest cathedral in France.
The cathedral was during the medieval time a famous pilgrim church with the head of John the Baptist as the most famous relic.

The west facade has three big portals filled with bas-reliefs and sculptures. The first bishop of Amiens was S:t Firmin and the portal on the north side named after him. The portal on the south side is the Holy Virgin portal and the middle portal is the Christ portal.
